In some books, this plant is named Licuala elegans. A search in the Germplasm Resources Information Network (GRIN) website showed that L. elegans is a synonym of L. pumila. Since L. pumila and L. peltata are not likely to be the same plant, I have decided not to indicate L. elegans as the synonym of this plant.
